American Airlines Admirals Club

4 · Above Gates A7 & A9; Between Gates A19 & A21; Above Gates B5 & B7 Open · A7–A9: 5:00-22:00; A19–A21: 6:00-20:00; B5–B7: 6:00-20:00

PHX Terminal 4 regulars treat the Admirals Clubs as office space first.

In Terminal 4 you actually have three American Airlines Admirals Clubs: above Gates A7–A9 (5:00–22:00), between Gates A19–A21 (6:00–20:00), and above Gates B5–B7 (6:00–20:00). All sit airside in T4, so once you clear security near Gate A7 you can walk to any of them without re-clearing.

The A7–A9 club is the workhorse. It opens at 5:00, closes at 22:00, and sits directly above those A gates, so it fills up during the early morning and late-afternoon AA banks. Flyers on FT say it tends to thin out later in the evening once the early transcons and bank departures push, making it the better bet after about 19:30.

The A19–A21 location runs 6:00–20:00 and mainly draws people on mid-day and late-afternoon flights off that side of Concourse A. Regulars time this one between the banks, ducking in for 45 minutes to charge a laptop and clear email. If your flight leaves from A19–A21, this is the shortest walk back to the gate by a few minutes.

The B5–B7 club is the remodel some FT users called “cold and impersonal,” but it is still the practical call if you are connecting on AA between A and B. It sits above B5–B7, opens at 6:00, and keeps you within a roughly 3–5 minute walk of most B gates, so you are not jogging back across T4 when boarding starts.

Food and drinks sit at standard Admirals level: basic cold snacks, limited hot bites at best, and the usual bar with some items free and others upcharge. Multiple reviews flag these PHX clubs as “fine to grab a drink and work, but nothing special” compared with hubs like DFW or MIA, and you will not find a real hot buffet line here.

Key miss: zero showers in any PHX Admirals Club, including A7–A9, A19–A21, and B5–B7. FT regulars instead point people to the public shower stalls down on Terminal 4 Level 1, which are the only realistic option if you need to clean up between long flights.

Watch out for: crowding in all three clubs during peak banks, especially early mornings and late afternoons when multiple mainline departures leave within 30–45 minutes of each other. If you hit a wall of people at B5–B7 around 7:30, it can be worth walking the 8–10 minutes to check the A7–A9 club upstairs.

One tip: on a long AA layover in T4, start at A7–A9 for the longer hours, then shift to A19–A21 or B5–B7 closer to departure so you are within a few hundred feet of your gate when boarding hits Group 3.
