McDonald’s

B

Big yellow arches sit just off the B terminal concourse

McDonald’s in Terminal B is the definition of known quantity at PHL, sitting right in the main concourse near gate B8. It’s post-security, so you can hit it after TSA without backtracking. Expect the standard airport markup: a Quarter Pounder meal runs a couple dollars more than street prices in Philly, and bottled drinks usually push past $4.

Breakfast runs on the usual McDonald’s schedule, roughly 5:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., which lines up with early American and Frontier departures out of B. You’ll find Egg McMuffins, hash browns, and coffee in multiple sizes; a large McCafé coffee here often lands around $3–$4. After 10:30 a.m., it flips to the full daytime menu with Big Macs, McNuggets, and Filet-O-Fish.

Ordering is standard counter service, sometimes with self-order kiosks along the wall if they’re switched on during peak times around the 7:00–9:00 a.m. and 4:00–6:00 p.m. banks. Lines can look long across the B concourse, but they usually clear in about 10–15 minutes between big departure waves. Seating spills into the shared gate seating nearby, so you’re basically eating at B8–B10 chairs rather than a dedicated dining room.

If you’re watching spend, this is one of the cheaper hot-food options in B compared with sit-down spots that can run $18+ before tip for a burger. A basic cheeseburger or McChicken still hits under $5, and kids’ Happy Meals keep costs predictable for families connecting through PHL with 45-minute layovers. Fries and fountain drinks are refilled at the counter only, not self-serve.

Tip: if your flight boards from a far B gate like B16 or B18, place your order, grab everything to-go, and walk toward your gate before opening the bag so you’re not sprinting down the concourse with a tray and a melting McFlurry.
