Chickie’s & Pete’s

Crabfries and beer show up fast at Chickie’s & Pete’s

Chickie’s & Pete’s sits in PHL’s Terminal A-West, right in the main concourse near several A-gates, and runs through typical flight banks from late morning into the evening. It’s a full sit-down sports bar with plenty of TVs locked on Philly teams, plus a long bar that works for solo travelers watching the clock on a 70–90 minute layover.

The menu leans hard into stadium food: Crabfries with the signature cheese sauce are the headline item and come out in under 10 minutes during most off-peak hours. Expect classic bar burgers in the $15–$20 range, wings, cheesesteaks, and a few seafood plates that nod to the South Philly original locations. Portions run large enough that one order of Crabfries usually feeds two people as a shared side.

Beer is the main drink play here, with local drafts like Yards or other Pennsylvania brews frequently on tap at prices in the $9–$12 range. The bar keeps a basic liquor lineup for simple mixed drinks and well pours, so it’s easy to grab a whiskey and soda or gin and tonic without slowing the bartender down. Most people close out their tab at the bar 20–25 minutes before boarding starts to avoid a rushed exit.

Service speed can swing with the A-West departure banks; when several international flights out of A-East and A-West board in the same 60-minute window, tickets back up and a burger can stretch to a 25–30 minute wait. If your boarding pass shows a tight connection under 50 minutes, stick to fries and drinks, or skip anything that needs the grill. There are closer grab-and-go coolers in A-West if you see heavy crowds here.

One tip: grab a bar seat instead of a table if your layover is under an hour; tabs turn faster at the bar, and you can keep a live view of your A-West gate board as you eat.
