Boost Juice

Gate-side fruit hit near T1 departures at PEN

Boost Juice sits in Penang International’s T1 departures area, past security, so you can grab something fresh after clearing screening and before boarding. It’s a counter-style setup with minimal seating, built for takeaway cups you can walk to the gate with.

Prices run roughly in the RM12–RM20 range for regular smoothies and juices, putting it in the same bracket as a coffee chain latte inside PEN. Portions come in clear cups with lids and straws, easy for a short walk to domestic gates in T1.

The menu hits the usual Boost standards: fruit blends, green smoothies, and juices, plus some add-ons like protein or energy “boosters” for a few extra ringgit. Expect mango, banana, berries, and yogurt bases on the board, plus at least one lighter, lower-sugar option if you’re watching what you drink before a flight.

Staff typically turn drinks around in under 5–10 minutes, even when there’s a small line from two or three families heading to Kuala Lumpur or Singapore. That’s workable if your boarding pass shows a 30-minute window before gate closing; tighter than that and you’re rolling the dice.

Figure on one smoothie as a light breakfast if you have an early-morning departure from T1, but don’t count on this as a full meal; you’ll still want something solid from another outlet in the terminal. On late-night flights, many airport juice bars shut by 21:00–22:00, so plan to pass by earlier in the evening.

Tip: Order a regular size without extra boosters if your boarding call is within 20 minutes; it arrives quicker and is easier to finish before security staff ask you to bin liquids at secondary checks near certain international gates.
