T2 $$$$

Footlongs and subs right in PEK Terminal T2

Just past security in Terminal T2, this Subway gives you a known quantity in an airport where Western chains thin out fast. It’s squarely in the $ price tier, so you’ll spend far less than at the sit-down spots closer to the international gates. Menu boards list prices in CNY, but the structure mirrors a typical US Subway: 6-inch, footlong, and set meals with a drink.

Expect the usual lineup of sandwiches: veggie, tuna, ham, and a few chicken options that rotate. Bread choices often include Italian, wheat, and parmesan-oregano, though stock can run low later in the day after about 20:00. Portion sizes track a standard Subway store, so a 6-inch sub plus a drink works as a light meal before a regional hop under 3 hours.

Opening hours usually cover the main peak window from early morning to late evening, roughly 07:00–22:00, but it can close earlier if flights thin out. There’s basic counter seating for around 10–12 people, most of it bar stools facing the concourse. If those spots are full, grab your sandwich and find regular gate seating within a 2–3 minute walk.

Ordering is straightforward: point at the bread and fillings on the line, or use the pictures on the overhead menu if language gets tricky. Combo meals with a fountain drink or bottled tea usually add around 10–15 CNY to the base sandwich price, still keeping it firmly in budget territory. Chips and cookies sit by the register, just like at a typical US store.

Tip: if your flight from T2 boards within the next 30 minutes, ask for your sub wrapped to go and skip to a nearby gate seat so you’re not stuck in a slow line when boarding starts.
