In mid-2023, both Pacific Coffee shops in PEK T3 sat dark
A traveller who walked all of Terminal 3 in 2023 reported finding two Pacific Coffee outlets airside, both shut with no staff and no service. These used to be rare sit-down coffee spots in T3, but during the current construction phase they look dormant rather than just between shifts.
The closed locations sit post-security in T3, on the concourses used by many international departures. Reviewers checking during long layovers talk about wandering past the familiar red logo, only to find the doors pulled and lights off for the whole day. No opening hours are posted, and there is no clear “reopening” date on signs near the units.
Prices from older photos show standard chain coffee levels, with basic drinks previously around the ¥25–35 mark, but that is historical data at this point. With the shutters down, you cannot rely on Pacific Coffee for a pre-boarding caffeine fix, a power outlet, or a table to sit at in T3. Treat it as unavailable unless you see staff behind the counter actually serving.
Regulars who connect through PEK during the works now skip Pacific Coffee completely and walk to Starbucks in T3 or grab something from the fast-food outlets scattered along the concourses. One flyer summed up T3 during this phase as having “roughly zero restaurants,” putting even more weight on whatever chains are actually open on your day.
Tip: if you have a layover in T3 longer than 90 minutes, plan your coffee around Starbucks or lounge access and treat Pacific Coffee as a pleasant surprise only if you physically see the doors open and machines running.
