Pacific Coffee

T2 $$$$

Gate-side in PEK T2, Pacific Coffee fills the Starbucks gap for a mid-range caffeine stop. It sits airside in Terminal 2, so you’re fine staying past security once you’ve cleared Chinese exit formalities. Expect a standard chain feel with Hong Kong roots and pricing in the mid $$ range for the airport: espresso drinks usually land above street level, but under hotel-lobby territory.

The menu runs through the usual espresso bar hits: cappuccinos, lattes, americanos, plus iced versions that matter on humid Beijing summer days over 30°C. You’ll also find flavored drinks and mocha-style options that tend to run a few RMB more than basic coffee. Tea drinkers get standard black and green teas, and there’s typically at least one sweeter latte-style tea option in the lineup.

Food is mostly quick bites: packaged sandwiches, small cakes, and cookies that work as a pre-flight snack at the gate. Portions skew light, so don’t come here expecting a full hot meal before a 10-hour long-haul. Prices sit in that airport middle ground: more than a convenience store in downtown Beijing, less than a sit-down restaurant elsewhere in T2.

Service pace matches typical Beijing Capital flow: ordering and payment can be quick, but milk-based drinks take a few extra minutes when there’s a push of departures around the :30 marks on the schedule boards. Power outlets are limited and often taken, so don’t bank on charging a laptop for a 12-hour flight here. Seating tends to be small tables for two, close together, with most guests cycling out in 20–30 minutes.

Practical tip: if you need coffee before an early-morning departure out of Terminal 2, factor in at least 10 minutes from joining the line to walking away with a latte during busy bank times, and grab any open seat facing the gate screens so you don’t miss a last-minute gate change.
