Short films and silence at Concourse C
Concourse C at PDX has a full darkened microcinema instead of another shop: the Hollywood Theatre Microcinema. It sits post-security in Terminal T near the C gates and runs looping programs of short films, many made by Portland-area filmmakers. No ticket counter, no concessions stand, no ads before the shorts. You just walk in, sit down, and watch.
The room is small, with real cinema seats and a proper screen, and it stays open during normal concourse hours while C is operating. Programming rotates, but it sticks to shorts, so you can duck in for 10–15 minutes between boarding group calls. Flyers mention using it on 45–90 minute layovers instead of trying to camp at crowded power outlets.
This isn’t a place to buy anything, so grab food first from nearby C-gate vendors, then bring it inside. One frequent PDX flyer mentions pairing a breakfast burrito and coffee with a sit here, using the microcinema as their regular morning layover routine. Staff don’t make a fuss about quiet snacking, but it’s still a movie room, not a picnic bench.
Tip: If your flight leaves from another concourse in Terminal T, budget 10–15 minutes to walk back from Concourse C so you don’t sacrifice the calm movie time to a last-minute sprint.
