By C5 in PDX’s Terminal T, CC McKenzie is shoes-first
Right off gate C5 in Terminal T, CC McKenzie is the place in PDX where footwear dominates the floor space. This is a landside-style boutique dropped airside, with racks of women’s boots, sandals, sneakers, and flats filling most of the shop. Prices run higher than mall chains, with many shoes in the $80–$160 range, plus a few impulse buys closer to $40 near the register.
The shop keeps standard PDX hours, roughly 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., which covers the early Alaska departures and the later Delta bank out of the C gates. In addition to shoes, you’ll see accessories like scarves, hats, and fashion socks, usually in the $15–$40 band. Inventory leans heavily toward women’s styles, with only a small corner that occasionally carries unisex or men’s sneakers.
No big luxury logos here; think mid-tier fashion brands you’d find in a downtown Portland boutique, not a Fifth Avenue flagship. Seasonal displays flip fast, so in winter you’ll see lined boots and rain-ready styles, while summer runs more sandals and slip-ons. Returns and exchanges are airport-standard: keep your receipt and you typically have to deal with the same location at PDX, not another mall branch.
If your gate is C1–C9, walking to CC McKenzie adds maybe three to five minutes each way, depending on crowds. It’s a last-call option for shoes that actually handle Portland’s rain. One practical tip: try both shoes, then walk a full loop around the shop before you buy—your feet are probably swollen from flying, so how they feel here is how they’ll feel at cruising altitude.
