Long-Term Parking

Long stay

10-minute covered walk beats waiting on the Economy shuttle

Long-Term Parking at PDX runs $24 per day and sits in a garage directly connected to Terminal T by skybridge. Figure about a 10-minute walk to the main ticketing area if you’re at the far end of the structure, slightly less if you luck into a spot close to the walkways. This is the in-between option: cheaper than the terminal short-term garage, but far closer than the Economy lots across the airfield.

The long-term garage is fully covered, which is why a lot of locals switch here in December and January when Portland rain is constant. One Reddit regular called it their “default in winter” because they don’t have to rely on the Economy shuttle in bad weather and can just walk across the enclosed skybridge. If you’re rolling big checked bags, the flat, covered path into T beats dealing with curbs and puddles at off-airport shuttles.

EV drivers get a solid perk: around 10 charging stations sit on level 2 of the long-term garage, with no extra fee beyond the standard $24 per day parking rate. Stations are first-come, first-served, so don’t plan on a guaranteed plug during holiday weekends. If you snag a charger, you can land back at PDX with a full battery and skip the post-trip detour to a public fast charger.

Disabled drivers with a valid placard cap out at roughly $15 per day in this garage, a rate that can beat some off-airport lots on 3–5 day trips. Local forum posts say people show the placard at the cashier booth to make sure the discounted maximum is applied correctly. That discount can add up to $45 saved over a 3-night stay compared with the standard $24 daily rate.

Watch out for peak dates: TripAdvisor reports mention circling multiple levels of the garage on Thanksgiving weekend just to find an open stall. Some Portland flyers say the pricing still feels “painful” and jump all the way to Economy or rideshare if cost is the main factor. If you do pick Long-Term Parking, build in an extra 15 minutes for circling during holidays before starting the 10-minute walk into Terminal T.

Practical tip: Aim for level 2 or 3 near the skybridge elevators; you cut your walk to under five minutes and have a shot at those EV chargers without adding extra laps around the garage.
