One of the only sushi-focused spots in Terminal 2
In ORD Terminal 2, Wicker Park Sushi is a rare sight: an actual sushi counter instead of another generic burger or pizza stand. You’ll find it airside in T2, handy if you’re flying United, Air Canada, or one of the regional carriers using those gates. It works for a sit-down roll and miso soup or a quick grab before boarding.
Menu pricing runs in typical airport range: expect basic rolls around the low teens and combo plates climbing closer to $20. Think California, tuna, and salmon rolls, plus a few “house” options rather than deep omakase. Portions lean on the lighter side, so plan on an extra roll if you’re actually hungry and have a 3–4 hour flight ahead.
Quality sits in the “good for an airport” band. Fish isn’t Tsukiji-fresh, but it generally beats the plastic-pack sushi boxes you see near gates in Terminals 1 and 3. Rice texture matters more here than fancy toppings, and you’ll notice when it’s been sitting a bit too long. If the display case looks sparse at 8 pm, stick to made-to-order rolls and skip anything prepacked.
Service speed varies by rush: at midday peaks around 11:30 am–1:30 pm it can stretch to 15–20 minutes for a few rolls. Off-hours, it’s often under 10 minutes from order to tray. There’s usually limited counter seating plus some nearby shared tables in the concourse, not a full restaurant footprint like you’d see near the B gates in Terminal 1.
Practical play: check your boarding time and the walk from your exact T2 gate on the screens before you sit. If you’re under 30 minutes from boarding on a regional jet out of the far F gates, grab a pre-made roll and miso to go instead of committing to a full order.
