Near gates 31–32, this is Porto’s one-size-fits-all VIP room

This VIP Lounge on Level 3 of the main terminal handles almost everything: airline status, business-class passengers, Priority Pass, and paid entry, all funneled into one space by gates 31–32. It opens early at 04:00 and usually closes around 21:00, so it’s the default stop for first departures out of OPO’s Terminal 1.

Access is airside in the main terminal, up one level above the Schengen gate area near gates 31 and 32, with clear “VIP/Ana Lounge” signs. Most major carriers using Porto send eligible passengers here, and Amex Platinum also lists this as its only partner lounge at OPO, which explains why it fills quickly during the morning and late-afternoon banks.

Food is basic: think sandwiches, simple hot and cold snacks, and a few sweets, closer to a solid European short-haul spread than a full meal service. Drinks get better reviews than the buffet, with several soft drinks, coffee machines, and alcoholic options, but FlyerTalk regulars still call the overall spread “few/poor offerings” compared to larger hubs, especially at peak times between roughly 06:00–09:00.

The room itself is not large, and multiple reports mention overcrowding because “seemingly every airline uses it” plus walk-up paid access. Expect a modern, clean-enough interior with mixed armchairs and small tables, but don’t count on scoring a quiet corner if you arrive 60–90 minutes before a busy mid-morning TAP or BA departure. Power outlets exist but can be fought over when the room is close to full.

A few key limitations: no showers at all, even for business-class or top-tier elites, and Wifi that’s acceptable for email and browsing but not always great for heavy streaming. One TAP regular times things so they only get about 30 minutes inside before a domestic flight, treating it as a quick coffee and snack stop rather than a long layover base.

Watch out for: evening closing. TripAdvisor lists hours as 04:00–21:00 daily, while some flyers report it sometimes stays open closer to the last flight around 22:00, but staff can start packing away food well before that. If you land from a late arrival around 20:30, head straight up from the main terminal security area to Level 3 so you’re not walking in as they clear the buffet.

One practical tip: if your gate is far from 31–32 and you only have about 45 minutes, skip the detour and stay gate-side; this lounge makes more sense when you already depart near the low-30s or you’ve built in 60–90 minutes at the airport.
