Route 760

Bus

Bus 30 min

Thirty-minute ride, half-hourly departures, and the lowest fare

Route 760 is the slow-but-cheap bus for T1 arrivals heading to Tweed Heads or the southern Gold Coast. The run takes about 30 minutes end to end, with buses every 30 minutes in typical daytime hours. If you care more about saving dollars than shaving minutes, this is the workhorse option out of Gold Coast Airport.

The route runs between Gold Coast Airport T1 and Tweed Heads, stopping at a string of suburbs along the way, which is why it feels much slower than the 777 if you’re trying to reach Broadbeach or Southport. One local summed it up: 760 is for the southern end; it feels like a slog if you’re aiming for Surfers Paradise. Fare is standard Translink bus pricing, so tap on with a go card or buy a paper ticket from the driver.

Route 760 picks up from the airport bus stands just outside T1, shared with other Translink routes like the 777. Services typically start in the early morning and run through the evening, but headways can stretch to 30 minutes or more late at night and on weekends. Check the Translink timetable in advance so you’re not standing kerbside watching taxis peel away.

There’s a time zone trap: the bus crosses between Queensland (no daylight savings) and New South Wales (with daylight savings). During summer, Tweed Heads clocks run one hour ahead of the airport, and some visitors get mixed up reading NSW times while landing in QLD time. Always set your watch to the airport’s local time before checking departures.

Regulars from the southern end sometimes walk up to earlier highway stops to board before the airport crowd, which helps grab a seat during school holidays when buses fill quickly. A few riders also mention occasional bus no-shows outside peak times and say they’ve abandoned the stop for an Uber after 30–40 minutes of waiting.

Quick tip: Screenshot the 760 timetable and confirm you’re looking at QLD times before you fly; if your wait on arrival is over 25 minutes and you’re tired, price out an Uber and decide on the spot.
