Rex passengers at OOL don’t actually have a lounge to use

Despite the name “Rex Lounge” appearing in some databases, Rex does not list any branded lounge at Gold Coast Airport (OOL) T1, and lounge threads on FlyerTalk make no mention of a Rex facility here. Treat Gold Coast as a lounge-free port for Rex domestic flights.

Rex flies domestic services from T1 at Gold Coast, but its published lounge network only covers a handful of airports like SYD, MEL, ADL and BNE, not OOL. If you’re holding Rex Business or a Rex Lounge membership, you still board at Gold Coast with standard terminal facilities only.

All Rex departures use the domestic side of T1, so check-in, security, and waiting happen in the shared terminal space with other domestic airlines. There is no separate Rex-branded check-in area feeding into a Rex lounge door, just the usual counters and general seating near the gates.

Because there is no Rex Lounge at OOL, there is also no Rex-specific food, bar, or shower offering in this airport. Anything you eat or drink before your Rex flight comes from the terminal cafés and grab-and-go outlets in T1, and you pay standard airport prices at the register.

Third-party access options also don’t fill the gap: current lounge lists for Gold Coast show only other operators, with no mention of Rex or a partner lounge you can enter using a Rex boarding pass. Priority Pass, airline status, or a Rex membership will not magically produce a Rex Lounge door in this terminal.

If your connection through Gold Coast on Rex is longer than 60–90 minutes, plan to camp near a power outlet in the T1 gate area and bring your own entertainment. Practical tip: buy food and drinks landside at street prices before security, then head to the Rex gate in T1 about 40 minutes before departure for boarding.
