Most lounge chat about Gold Coast Airport focuses on Virgin Australia, so the Qantas Club in T1 stays oddly under the radar. It sits airside in the domestic departures area, past security and after the main food outlets that cluster near the central gates. If you are flying Qantas or another oneworld carrier on a domestic ticket, this is the only alliance lounge option in the terminal.

Doors usually open roughly 60 minutes before the first Qantas departure of the day and stay open until the last evening Qantas flight boards, so you can often get a solid 2–3 hour window if you arrive early. Entry follows standard Qantas rules: Qantas Club members, Qantas and oneworld elites (Gold and above), and passengers on eligible domestic business class tickets. Day passes sometimes appear in Qantas sales or credit‑card promos, but there is no walk-up cash price at the door.

The lounge sits on the smaller side compared with Qantas Clubs in Brisbane or Sydney, with seating spread across a single main room near the domestic gates used by QF400‑series flights. Expect standard Qantas Club furniture: individual armchairs, a few work benches with power, and small café tables lined up along the windows. At peak times around the 06:00–08:00 bank, every second seat can be taken, so getting in earlier than 45 minutes before departure helps if you want a power point.

Food follows the usual domestic Qantas Club pattern: basic continental breakfast items in the morning and simple hot snacks after about 11:00. Think cereal, toast, and yoghurt early in the day, then soup, pasta bakes, or similar trays later; nothing like a full restaurant menu. Self-serve drinks normally include beer and wine from around midday, soft drinks from standard fridges, and a push-button coffee machine that is a step above the public concourse offerings but still not café-grade.

Wi‑Fi runs on the standard Qantas lounge network, usually quicker than the free airport Wi‑Fi that covers the rest of T1, and power outlets tend to cluster near the windows and high tables. Showers may not always be available in this regional domestic lounge, so do not plan on a full refresh like you would at a major hub such as Sydney T3. If you only have a 35‑minute domestic connection, skip the detour and head straight to your gate; build the buffer for anything 45 minutes or longer.

Practical tip: security at Gold Coast T1 can peak before the morning Qantas bank, so clear screening first, head straight past the main food court, and then double back to the Qantas Club once you see your flight’s gate on the screens.
