Escape Lounge

In May 2022, Aspire fully took over the old T4 Escape space.

The former Escape Lounge in Terminal 4 at Ontario (ONT) is now run under the Aspire brand, using the same footprint MAG USA had before ONT ended that contract early. Flyers on FlyerTalk mention their pre-booked Escape visits got wiped when the deal was cut short, then restarted under Aspire in the same T4 location. If you remember the old Escape setup, you’re basically walking into its successor under a new operator.

Terminal 4 access stays similar: this lounge sits airside in T4, serving the same contract-lounge role for that terminal as Escape did before. You still clear security for T4 first, then head toward the former Escape spot that Aspire now occupies. If you used to plan your T4 layovers around Escape, the new move is to slot Aspire into that same time block.

Entry rules also shift slightly: Aspire now manages the door instead of MAG USA, but locals on forums note the pattern is the same in both T2 and T4. Amex cardholders look for Aspire access terms at ONT, and everyone else treats it as a pay-in lounge with a day-pass model rather than airline status-based only. Plan for walk-up availability to be tighter in the late afternoon departure banks.

Online reviews from the Escape closure thread flag one main pain point: early contract termination at ONT disrupted long-standing routines, especially for people who had locked in Escape visits weeks in advance. That group had to cancel those bookings, then switch to Aspire after the new lounges opened in May 2022 in both T2 and T4. If you’re coming back after a long gap, don’t look for “Escape” on the signs; follow Aspire branding instead.

Regulars who used the old Escape in T4 now treat the Aspire Lounge as the default pre-flight stop, since it sits in the same general spot and fills the same contract-lounge role for Terminal 4. Their pattern: clear security, head straight to Aspire, then move to the gate about 25–30 minutes before boarding. Copy that, and you won’t be the person wandering up and down T4 still trying to find an Escape sign that no longer exists.

Practical tip: if you see Aspire mentioned on your T4 boarding pass or Amex benefits page, assume it’s in the old Escape Lounge location and budget an extra 5–10 minutes the first time to follow the new signage.
