ONT pulled the plug on Escape Lounge in T2 back in 2022

Escape Lounge as a brand is gone from Ontario International Airport, with ONT ending MAG USA’s contract early and handing the old Terminal 2 space to Aspire in 2022. The former Escape room is still in T2, past security, but all current signage and access rules now say Aspire Lounge, not Escape. If you’re looking at old trip reports or Priority Pass maps, treat any “Escape” mention at ONT as outdated.

The old Escape Lounge entrance in Terminal T2 now leads straight into the Aspire Lounge, which took over both the footprint and the basic pay-in / membership model. Priority Pass, LoungeKey, and several contract airlines now point you to Aspire in T2 instead of Escape, and American Express cardholders who previously used Escape here now follow Aspire’s access rules. On any same-day T2 departure, you clear security first, then follow signs to the Aspire-branded door.

FlyerTalk regulars in the “Escape Lounge at ONT [Closed]” thread note that ONT terminated the MAG USA agreement that had run both Escape spaces at the airport, including the original T2 lounge. In the same discussion, posters explain that Aspire stepped in as the new operator in May 2022, effectively replacing Escape’s operation in Terminal 2. If you had an old MAG Escape membership card or confirmation number from before 2022, it no longer works at ONT.

One real pain point: some travelers had pre-booked MAG Escape day passes and even MAG-linked parking products for Ontario, then watched those get wiped out when ONT pulled the contract. FlyerTalk posts from 2022 mention people scrambling for alternative parking and losing prepaid lounge access when the Escape-branded facility shut its doors. If you still have any MAG USA paperwork mentioning ONT or Escape Lounge, assume it’s dead and contact MAG rather than the airport.

Former Escape regulars now simply walk into the Aspire Lounge in T2 and treat it as the same basic stop before a Southwest or other T2 flight. Priority Pass users report that the Aspire front desk recognizes older patterns of use from the Escape days, but operates under its own policies and capacity controls. Plan your timing off Aspire’s current posted hours for Terminal 2, not any archived Escape schedule that might still float around online.

Bottom line: if your itinerary, credit card, or app still says “Escape Lounge ONT T2,” mentally translate that to Aspire Lounge T2 and double-check access, hours, and any day-pass pricing directly with Aspire before you head to the airport.
