South Garage at OMA is the covered long-stay option a lot of frequent flyers use when they want protection from snow or hail but don’t care about the Premier reserved area. It’s tagged as long stay, sits about 0.3 miles from the terminal, and the walk clocks in around 10 minutes to the South side of the building under cover almost the whole way.

Rates run $15.00 per day or $105.00 per week, so once you hit seven days you’re effectively capped at the weekly price. For trips of 3–5 days, that daily rate is the trade-up for staying garage-side instead of going out to the more remote economy lots. It’s still cheaper than many big-hub garages, which lines up with the “very reasonable” comments you see from OMA regulars.

Most of the South Garage is traditional covered parking, but the rooftop is sold separately as “South Garage Rooftop” in the airport’s system, and some promo codes only apply to that rooftop or only to the interior covered levels. If you’re using a discount from a corporate partner like the University of Nebraska (up to about 25% off covered garages), read the fine print before you park so you pick the right entry.

Level 2 has been in phased restoration, with some sections blocked off and traffic cones pushing cars around even while the structure stays open. When it feels tight during holidays, airport signs and the website point people toward the North Garage via Abbott Drive as the first backup. Both garages still feed into the same compact terminal layout, so swapping sides usually adds just a few minutes of walking.

What regulars do: they skip drive-up and pre-book on the official reservations site to lock in a South Garage space and apply their corporate code. One practical tip: if you want covered parking but don’t care about a specific floor, follow the overhead signs rather than hunting for the “perfect” stall; it cuts your ramp time and gets you terminal-bound faster.
