Gate 8 coffee that’s local to OKC: Elemental Coffee

Right by Gate 8 in the Main Terminal, Elemental Coffee is the airport outpost of Oklahoma City’s downtown roastery, so beans don’t taste like generic chain stuff. It sits post-security, an easy stop if you’re flying American or Southwest out of the central gates.

Hours run 5am–8pm daily, Monday through Sunday, which covers the first bank of departures and most evening flights. Early flyers can grab a real espresso before a 6:15am boarding call, and late arrivals still have a caffeine option before the 8pm close.

Drip coffee and basic espresso drinks price in the typical airport range, with regular coffees a few dollars and specialty lattes a bit higher. Expect standard sizes and customizations (oat or almond milk, extra shots) instead of a stripped-down menu. It’s quick enough to hit even on a 40-minute layover if your gate is nearby.

The menu leans classic: drip, cold brew, americanos, cappuccinos, and flavored lattes, plus simple pastries when the case is stocked earlier in the day. For a stronger jolt, go double espresso or a cold brew; for something slower, grab a latte and a muffin to carry to the Gate 8–10 seating area.

No standout complaints show up in recent reviews, but lines spike around the 6–8am rush when several departures stack. Figure 10 minutes in queue if three or more people are ahead of you, especially if they’re ordering food rather than just coffee.

Tip: If your flight boards at Gate 1–4, budget a 5-minute walk each way to Gate 8 so you’re not sprinting back with a full cup.
