Gate-side menswear in Terminal 2
Just past security in Terminal 2, Brooks Brothers covers most last-minute business wardrobe problems before a Bay Area or transcon flight. This is a standard airport outpost: shirts, ties, sport coats, chinos, and a small rack of women’s basics, all at normal Brooks Brothers mall pricing, not outlet pricing. If your bag is checked through and something spills or tears on the way to OAK, this is one of the few places in the terminal where you can fully replace office clothes.
Expect classic dress shirts in common sizes, a couple of navy blazers on the rack, and a limited run of seasonal items; think more “core line” than full flagship stock. Accessories matter here: they usually carry leather belts, socks, and travel-friendly wrinkle-resistant shirts that still look sharp after a 5-hour hop to the East Coast. Prices track standard tags, so a shirt can easily run over $100 and ties sit in the $70–$100 range.
Selection leans conservative, which works if you’re heading to a meeting in Downtown Oakland or a same-day connection to SFO via BART and want to stay polished. Tailoring is minimal on-site, so anything that needs a real alteration will have to wait until you’re off the road. Staff can usually get you in and out with a full outfit in under 15 minutes if you’re pushing a 45-minute boarding window.
Plan your stop right after TSA in Terminal 2, before you get pulled toward food lines closer to gates 20–32; it’s easier to sort shirts and belts while your hands are still free and you’re not juggling takeout and a carry-on.
