Auntie Anne's

Gate-side carbs in Terminal 2

Auntie Anne's in Terminal 2 at Oakland (OAK) sits past security on the concourse used by Southwest, so you can grab a pretzel after clearing the single TSA checkpoint on that side. It’s a walk-up counter, no seating, basically a quick stop between gates while you watch the boarding clock. You’ll smell the butter and cinnamon before you see the sign.

Prices run in the airport-normal range: expect about $5–$7 for a classic pretzel or nuggets and closer to $3–$4 for drinks like lemonade. Combo deals with pretzel nuggets and a drink usually land around $9–$11. They take cards and contactless payments, so you can pay with phone or watch and keep your boarding pass ready.

The menu is the standard Auntie Anne's lineup: original salted pretzels, cinnamon sugar, pretzel nuggets, and hot dogs wrapped in pretzel dough. Dips cost extra, usually under $2, and include cheese and sweet glazes. If you have a long flight on Southwest out of Terminal 2, the jalapeño or pepperoni pretzels hit harder than the sweet options and hold up better as plane snacks.

Hours shift with flight banks, but Auntie Anne's generally opens by the early Southwest departures around 5:00–5:30 a.m. and stays open until the last evening flights, often close to 9:00–10:00 p.m. If you’re on a late-night departure after 10 p.m., don’t count on it being open and plan backup food from another Terminal 2 spot near your gate.

Lines spike right before the 7:00–9:00 a.m. and 4:00–7:00 p.m. departures, especially when two Southwest flights board from adjacent gates. The wait can hit 10–15 minutes with only one or two staff working the ovens. Smart move: stop here immediately after security in Terminal 2, then walk your pretzel to the gate instead of joining the pre-boarding rush queue at the last minute.
