Gate-side option in Terminal 1: Asiana

Right in Terminal 1 at OAK, Asiana sits on the concourse after security, so you can stay close to your gate while you eat. It’s a basic counter-service spot: order at the register, grab a seat at nearby tables, and keep an eye on boarding groups. Expect quick turnarounds during the morning and early evening bank of departures.

Menu leans Asian-American airport standards: you’ll usually see rice plates, noodle dishes, dumplings, and a couple of stir-fry style combos under $20. Portions run larger than the grab-and-go sandwiches a few doors down, so it works if you want a real meal before a 2–3 hour flight out of Terminal 1.

Beer and soft drinks come in standard airport pricing territory, roughly $4–$10 depending on size and brand. If you’re trying to keep costs down, stick to water and one main dish and you’ll likely land in the $15–$18 range before tax and tip. Credit cards are taken; don’t count on cash-only quirks here.

Timing matters at Asiana: during the 6–9 a.m. and 4–7 p.m. rush, food can take 10–20 minutes from order to tray. If your boarding pass shows a 45-minute connection in Terminal 1, order something simple like a rice bowl instead of a made-to-order stir-fry that needs more pan time.

Seating is shared with other Terminal 1 spots, so power outlets can be hit-or-miss around Asiana’s tables. If you need to charge a laptop before a 5-hour transcon, scout the seats against the wall first, then place your order once you’ve claimed an outlet.

Tip: Check your gate on the monitors near Asiana before you sit down; some OAK gates in Terminal 1 shift within 30–40 minutes of departure, and it’s easier to move a few doors now than sprint across the concourse with a hot takeout box later.
