Heinemann Duty Free

Right after security in T1, Heinemann Duty Free is your main stop for tax-free shopping at Nuremberg Airport.

Heinemann Duty Free sits airside in Terminal 1, after security and before the Schengen and non-Schengen gates. You pass it on the way to most departures, so you don’t need to detour far from boarding. It opens early for morning flights and usually stays open through the last departures, matching the general T1 schedule.

Prices track standard German duty free: 1‑liter spirits bottles under typical downtown prices, plus tobacco, perfume, and cosmetics. Expect common whisky brands, gin, and regional options like German schnapps on the main aisle. Regular EU rules apply on alcohol and tobacco allowances, so buying big only really makes sense if you’re heading out of the EU.

The store carries sweets and snacks you can take straight to the gate: Ritter Sport, Haribo, and Lindt in 200 g and 500 g sizes, plus some Nuremberg-style gingerbread depending on season. There are also travel-sized toiletries, basic electronics accessories like chargers and headphones, and a small shelf of souvenir items with “Nürnberg” branding.

Service runs in German and English, and cashiers handle card payments quickly, including contactless and mobile pay. If you want anything from the locked spirits cabinets, ask staff; they’ll bring bottles to the till and check boarding passes for non‑EU itineraries.

Tip: If your gate is at the far end of T1, shop here first; there’s no second Heinemann out by the remote gates.
