One last Tucher before boarding in T1
Right by the gates in Terminal T1, Tucher Bar is where people sit down for a final Franconian Tucher beer on tap before departure. It’s post-security, so you can stay here until boarding is called and then walk a minute or two straight to your gate.
Beer is the point: Tucher is a local Nuremberg/Franconian brand, and reviews repeatedly call out getting a “proper Tucher” at the airport. Draft pours come in standard 0.3L and 0.5L sizes, priced higher than in the city, which lines up with the $$ tier and “airport markup” complaints. If you care about a last local beer more than saving a few euros, this is the spot.
Food is secondary. Regulars describe the menu as small snacks and simple bar dishes, fine if you need something with your drink but not worth planning a meal around. Think basic sandwiches or bar bites rather than a sit-down restaurant. Several frequent flyers say they skip food here entirely and just eat in town before heading to NUE.
Service can slow down sharply when two or three departures are boarding from nearby gates at the same time. Reviews mention waiting 10–15 minutes for a drink when the bar is full and passengers are standing in the aisle area. Seating is tight and partly in the traffic flow to the gates, so expect rolling bags and boarding calls in your ear.
Prices draw complaints: people point out noticeably higher beer costs than in Nuremberg city pubs, which matters if you are ordering multiple 0.5L rounds. Figure on paying a premium for location and draft Tucher rather than value.
Tip: If you want that “last Tucher,” grab a table 30–40 minutes before boarding, order beer only, and pay as soon as your drink arrives so you can walk straight to your gate when the line forms.
