La Buvette du Voyage

Near the T1 departures hall, La Buvette du Voyage serves as the airport’s main sit-down bar-café before security. You’ll find it just off the public check-in area, so it works for both departures and people meeting arriving flights. It runs through most of the operating day, roughly early morning to late evening, but closing can track the last departures out of Nantes Atlantique.

Food is classic French café fare: croissants and pastries in the morning, plus simple plates like quiche, salads, and sandwiches later in the day. Expect coffee around €3, soft drinks in the €3–€4 range, and light meals generally under €15. Portions lean snack-sized rather than full restaurant plates, so plan accordingly if you’re trying to make this your main pre-flight meal.

The bar side focuses on French wine and beer, with glasses of local or regional wine typically landing in the €4–€6 band. Draft or bottled beers sit in a similar price range, slightly higher for specialty labels. It’s a straightforward setup: order at the counter, pay, and they’ll bring items to your table if you’re staying put. Turnaround on drinks is quick; hot food can stretch to 10–15 minutes when the T1 queues are long.

Seating is mostly small tables tight to the main concourse, so noise from T1 check-in and security is part of the deal. Power outlets are limited and not every table has them, so don’t count on a full laptop work session here. Wi‑Fi uses the standard airport network for Nantes Atlantique, which is free but can slow during peak departures around the 06:00–09:00 and 17:00–20:00 banks.

One practical tip: if you have a Schengen flight out of T1, leave La Buvette du Voyage at least 45 minutes before departure to clear security and walk to distant gates, especially on busy Friday and Sunday evenings.
