T2 to T3 Shuttle Bus

3–6 minute shuttle link between Narita T2 and T3

The T2 to T3 Shuttle Bus runs every 5–7 minutes and keeps the ride itself to about 3–6 minutes, so it’s the quickest free option between Narita Terminal 2 and Terminal 3. It’s landside, so you’re outside security the whole time, which matters if you’re tight on an international–LCC connection at NRT.

The shuttle serves Terminal 2 and Terminal 3 only, not T1, and it runs throughout the day in sync with flight schedules, so you rarely wait more than one or two buses. Look for clearly marked “T2–T3 Shuttle Bus” signs near the curb at T2 and by the terminal exit at T3; both stops sit a short walk from the main arrival halls.

There’s no ticket needed and no fare collected; this shuttle is free for everyone, including transiting passengers and meeters/greeters, so you just line up and board at the curb. The buses use standard airport coaches with standing room and grab rails, which works fine for 3–6 minutes but can feel crowded during late afternoon bank times when multiple LCC flights hit T3.

Because the bus is landside, you clear security again in whichever terminal you end up in, and security lines at T3 can spike past 20–30 minutes in early morning and evening peaks. Build the buffer and aim to be at your final terminal at least 90 minutes before a domestic LCC departure and 2–3 hours before an international flight out of T2 or T3.

There’s no luggage limit posted, but with larger check-in bags and ski or golf gear the tighter interior can get awkward, especially if a stroller or wheelchair boards at the same time. If you’re carrying big duty-free boxes from T2 into T3, board early in the queue so you can slide them against the bulkhead instead of juggling them in the aisle for 3–6 minutes.

One tip: if you land in T2 and fly out of T3, skip browsing the shops in T2 and hop on the shuttle first; do your snack and water run in T3 after you’re through that terminal’s security line.
