Gate-side carbs near T3 check-in, open from 05:00
Miyatake Sanuki Udon in Narita T3 serves fast, cheap bowls of Sanuki-style udon from 05:00 to 21:00 (last order). It sits in the Terminal 3 food court area used by LCCs, so it works well if you’re flying Jetstar Japan, Peach, or Spring and want something hot before security. Expect cafeteria counter ordering, a tray line, and self-seating rather than table service.
The menu sticks to Japanese basics: kake udon, kitsune udon, and tempura add-ons, all built around the same Sanuki noodles. Bowls usually price in the low ¥400–¥800 range, so this lands below most sit-down spots in T1 and T2. Portion sizes lean generous for the price, which helps if you’re trying to eat once and skip airplane food on a 5–6 hour sector.
Everything is landside in T3, a short indoor walk from the T2 shuttle bus stop and the running track-style corridor. You order, pay at the counter, pick up your tray, and bus it yourself, which keeps turnover quick even when groups show up 30 minutes before a 18:00 departure bank. Signage is mostly Japanese with some English and pictures, so pointing at the menu board works fine.
No standout complaints show up in recent reviews, but it’s still airport food court udon, not Shikoku-level depth. Broth can taste salty if you’re sensitive, and tempura sits in a case, so eat it quickly before it sogs. If you’re tight on time, skip add-ons and go straight for a basic udon; it usually hits the counter in under five minutes.
Tip: lines spike around the 07:00–09:00 LCC wave, so if your flight leaves after 10:00, eat closer to 09:30 for shorter waits and easier seating.
