Gyudon under ¥800 in T3: that’s MATSUYA’s move
MATSUYA in Narita T3 sits on the main food court walkway, about a 3–5 minute walk from the domestic LCC gates. It’s a standard Japanese beef-bowl chain, not an airport one-off, so prices stay close to city levels instead of the usual terminal markup. Figure mid-¥700s for a regular gyudon set, which is rare for a sit-down-style meal at NRT.
The place runs from early morning into late night in Terminal 3, covering most Peach, Jetstar, and Spring Japan departures. It’s post-security on the concourse level, so you clear security once, then eat, then walk straight to gates 150–159. Lines spike around the typical 09:00–10:00 and 18:00–20:00 departure banks; at those times, budget 10–15 minutes from queue to tray.
Order counter-style, pay upfront, then grab a seat in the shared T3 food court. Core move: gyudon (beef bowl) with miso soup and a raw or soft‑boiled egg, still usually under ¥900 total. Pork bowls and curry rice run in the same price band, with large sizes adding roughly ¥100–¥150. Drinks are basic: water is free, soft drinks and tea cost extra but stay under ¥300.
Menu boards show photos plus English and numeric pricing in yen, which helps if you just landed and haven’t switched mental currency yet. Turnover is fast; many people finish in 15 minutes and walk to a Jetstar Japan flight leaving from gate 154 or nearby. Compared to the pricier sit-down spots back in T2, this is a solid value play if you walked over the T2–T3 connector for cheaper food.
Tip: if your flight departs from the far end of T3 around gate 159, start packing up at least 20 minutes before boarding time; the walk plus crowds through the long hallway can easily eat 10 minutes.
