2€ water beats 5€ coffee in Terminal 1

Monop’ Daily in Terminal 1 works like a compact supermarket, not a café. You’re looking at supermarket-style prices (think 1–2€ for bottled water, 2–4€ for snacks) instead of 6–10€ for airport pastries and coffee. It sits landside in T1, so you can stock up before security, then skip overpriced drinks and chips at the gates.

Doors usually open in the early morning to catch the first departures from T1 and stay open into the evening bank of easyJet and legacy flights. Shelves carry packaged salads, simple sandwiches, crisps, chocolate, yogurts and soft drinks you can take straight to your Ryanair, easyJet or Air France gate. A Google reviewer calls it their default stop for water and a snack because it’s cheaper than the terminal cafés.

Food quality sits at “serviceable” rather than great, reflected in the 3/5 rating and comments about basic, sometimes dry sandwiches. Expect industrial baguette sandwiches in the 4–6€ range, plastic-wrapped pastries, and pre-cut fruit cups. The upside: it’s still less painful than 12–15€ plates in sit‑down spots elsewhere in Nice Airport T1.

Watch out around the 07:00–09:00 and 17:00–19:00 departure peaks from Terminal 1: reviews mention crowded aisles and slow lines at the single checkout when several flights board at once. If you see a queue snaking past the crisps section, budget 10 extra minutes so you don’t end up sprinting to gate A20 or B25 with a warm Coke.

Practical play: buy a 1–2L bottle of water and a couple of 2–3€ snacks here at Monop’ Daily, then pass security and ignore the 4–5€ half‑litre bottles near the T1 gates.
