Terminal 1’s sit-down French option when you’ve got time

In Terminal 1, Le Badiane is one of the few places where you actually get table service, a wine list, and proper plates instead of a takeaway box at the gate. It sits landside in T1, so plan to clear security afterwards if you’re departing from gates A01–A36. Figure on $$$ pricing here: mains often run in the €22–€30 range and a glass of Côte de Provence can easily hit €8–€10.

Le Badiane runs through the daytime and early evening to catch the Paris and London banks out of NCE T1, but hours can taper on late flights after 20:00. The menu leans French brasserie: salads, fish dishes, pastas, and meat plates that feel more city-restaurant than food-court. One reviewer called it “fine for a quick salad and glass of wine,” which tracks with the mixed 3/5 rating on Google.

Service is the main gamble. Multiple reviews flag long gaps between courses and slow drink refills. One traveler flat-out said they wouldn’t try it with less than an hour before boarding, so treat 60 minutes as your minimum, 75–90 minutes if you want starter, main, and dessert. If you’re inside a 45‑minute boarding window, you’re better off grabbing a sandwich elsewhere in T1.

Value is the other sticking point. Several reviewers compare prices unfavorably to central Nice, where the same style of salad or pasta runs €5–€8 less. Dessert and coffee can push a simple sit-down lunch for one close to €40. The trade: real cutlery, a glass of wine, and a seat away from the T1 seating scrum.

Tip: Ask for the bill as soon as your main course arrives; with T1’s variable queues, you want to be walking toward security at least 35–40 minutes before your scheduled boarding time.
