Gate-side sugar fix by Terminal 1 security

Right after security in Terminal 1 at Naples (NAP), Ice Cream Parlour is the quick hit for something cold and sweet before you head to Schengen or non‑Schengen gates. It’s a walk-up counter, so you can grab a cone and still keep an eye on a boarding screen 20 meters away. Seating is limited to a few stools, but most people just stand with a cup and finish in 5–10 minutes.

Pricing runs in typical Italian airport range: figure about €3–€3.50 for a single scoop and around €5 for a generous double. You pay at the till first, then hand the receipt to the server for your gelato. Service is quick; even with five or six people ahead of you, you’re usually walking away within 5 minutes. That matters if your flight from Gate C or D is already showing “boarding soon.”

Flavors rotate, but you almost always see pistachio, stracciatella, nocciola, and at least one seasonal fruit like limone or fragola. Portions are bigger than you’d expect for an airport stand in Terminal 1, and the texture is closer to real gelato than soft-serve. If you’re unsure, ask for a tiny taste of two flavors; staff usually say yes when it’s not a long queue. Skip anything that looks icy around the edges and go for the tubs that are still mounded high.

They open early enough to catch the first banks of departures, roughly around 06:00, and usually stay open until late-evening flights push out after 21:00, though hours swing with the season. There’s no decaf espresso or elaborate coffee menu here, just basic drinks in cans and bottles from the fridge for around €2–€3. Think of it as dessert, not a café stop.

Practical tip: if your gate is in the higher C or D numbers, grab your ice cream here first; walking back from the far end of Terminal 1 just for a cone can burn 10–15 minutes roundtrip.
