Most of NAN’s post-security shops are Duty Free counters
Once you clear security in the International terminal at Nadi, you’re basically in duty free land. Multiple Duty Free stores line the short airside corridor, so you’ll pass at least one on the way to any gate. This is your main retail option; there isn’t a big spread of other shops to wander through like at larger hubs.
Liquor is the headline buy here. Fiji rum and local spirits are usually front and center, with 1L bottles often under Fiji’s in-town prices and better than many Australian or New Zealand airport stores. If you want branded whisky or gin, selection is decent by small-airport standards, but don’t expect every single niche label you’d see in SYD or AKL.
You’ll also see the usual duty free staples: perfume, cosmetics, basic chocolates, and a few gift items with “Fiji” on the packaging. Stock skews toward big global brands, with a smaller corner for local products. Prices are generally in FJD, and most counters accept major credit cards plus common regional currencies, though change comes back in FJD.
Lines spike when widebodies to Australia, New Zealand, or the US board within the same hour, especially at the central Duty Free near the larger gates. If your flight leaves around midnight, assume a 5–10 minute wait to pay. Tip: do a quick lap first; with multiple Duty Free outlets in the International terminal, it’s worth comparing a bottle or two before you commit.
