Ten minutes from curb to any gate is normal at MYR

Myrtle Beach International Airport runs on a single 18-gate concourse, so American, Delta, Spirit, Allegiant, and Frontier all sit in one compact building. Check-in counters line the front of the terminal on Level 1, security sits directly behind them, and every gate departs from the same post-security hallway. No terminal codes to remember here: everything is Terminal 1.

Security usually sits between the check-in area and the central atrium, and in shoulder season you can be through in under 15–20 minutes. In July and August, allow 30–40 minutes before the morning and late-afternoon departure banks, especially for Spirit and Allegiant leisure waves. TSA PreCheck is available, but there are no CLEAR lanes and no separate premium checkpoint for American or Delta elites.

Once you clear security, the concourse walks in a straight line with gates on both sides, so even the farthest end is only a few minutes from the central food cluster. With only 18 gates total, you can land off an American flight and reach a Spirit or Frontier departure on foot in under 5 minutes. Signage for restrooms and exits tends to appear every 2–3 gates, and there are seating pockets between most gate pairs.

On the food front, Nacho Hippo Cantina Maxima and Pizza Hyena sit near the center of the concourse and cover the heavier meals. Nacho Hippo runs Tex-Mex plates, quesadillas, and loaded chips; expect tacos and nachos priced in the low teens. Pizza Hyena covers flatbreads and slices, usually the fastest option if your boarding pass shows a tight 30-minute window.

Subway and Steak 'n Shake handle the grab-and-go crowd closer to the mid-concourse gates. Subway keeps the usual lineup of footlongs, often under $12, and is the safer bet if you want something you can carry onto a crowded Allegiant or Frontier flight. Steak 'n Shake leans toward burgers and fries; if your Delta or American departure is during the lunch push, lines here can back up 10–15 minutes behind just a few orders.

Starbucks has at least one location in the terminal, with Starbucks Coffee Company branded signage visible post-security near the main atrium. Expect the standard espresso menu, refreshers, and breakfast sandwiches, with the usual $6–$7 latte pricing. If your boarding time is 30 minutes out, order mobile as soon as you clear security; the line can stack 15–20 deep during early-morning eastbound departures.

Retail is light but targeted: Hudson News carries magazines, drinks, and basic travel gear near the central gates, and Shoreline Supply adds local Myrtle Beach souvenirs and beach items like branded t-shirts and flip-flops. Figure on paying airport pricing for sunscreen and last-minute sand toys, often several dollars above what you saw on Ocean Boulevard. Pick up snacks here if you’re facing a Spirit or Allegiant segment with pay-only onboard service.

There are no airline lounges at MYR, so no Admirals Club for American, no Sky Club for Delta, and no contract space for Priority Pass. Power outlets and a few USB ports show up around seating at many gates, but not at every seat. If you need to work before a Frontier or Spirit flight, plan around the mid-concourse seating clusters where outlet density tends to be better.

One practical move: build a 90-minute cushion at peak season, clear security, then eat at Nacho Hippo or Pizza Hyena near the middle of the concourse so you’re never more than a 3–5 minute walk from any of the 18 gates when your American, Delta, Spirit, Allegiant, or Frontier boarding call hits.
