El Faro

Gate-side in T1, El Faro sits airside after security at Carrasco MVD and works as a last stop for snacks and drinks before boarding. It’s inside Terminal 1’s main departures area, so you won’t need to exit the secure zone or backtrack through passport control. Expect typical airport pricing rather than city café levels, but it’s still reasonable compared with other South American hubs.

El Faro runs through the core bank of departures, usually opening early morning around the first flights and staying open into the late evening waves in T1. You’ll find the shop along the primary passenger flow to the gates, so it’s easy to hit it on the way to airlines like LATAM, Avianca, and Aerolíneas Argentinas. Figure 10–15 minutes from here to most boarding gates, including the farther Schengen-style bus gates at the end of the pier.

Food and drink are standard café-shop fare: packaged snacks, bottled water and soft drinks, plus some coffee options and simple grab-and-go bites. Prices sit in the mid-teens USD for a small haul of snacks and drinks, more if you start adding alcohol. If you want a proper sit-down meal at MVD, use El Faro as backup and look elsewhere in T1; this spot works better for quick refuels.

Plan one stop here if you land at MVD and connect onward from T1 with under 60 minutes: grab a drink and something portable, then walk straight to your gate. If you’re on a late-night departure, do a snack run at El Faro before queues build about 40 minutes before boarding.
