Gate-side Duty Free in Terminal C

Just past security in Terminal C, Duty Free sits along the small corridor serving the C gates, so you’ll walk by it on the way to most domestic and international departures from this pier. It’s post-security, so you don’t need extra time for re-entry, but you should still keep 10–15 minutes spare if you plan to browse before boarding at a C-gate remote stand.

Duty Free in C carries the usual spirits, tobacco, perfume and cosmetics, with liquor prices often a bit lower than downtown Monterrey supermarket shelves for 750 ml and 1 L bottles. Expect standard tequila and mezcal brands near the entrance and higher-end labels locked in glass cases at the back. Cosmetics and fragrances from big European and US brands sit in the center, typically at standard duty free pricing rather than true bargains.

For gifts, you’ll see boxed chocolates and regional candy near the cash registers, plus travel-sized toiletries under 100 ml that work for carry-on limits on connections. Grab bottled tequila or mezcal only if your final destination allows duty free liquids on arrival; on many US connections via another airport, 1 L glass bottles may be confiscated at re-screening.

Lines get longest in the 06:00–08:00 morning bank and again around 18:00, when multiple C-gate departures board. If you just want a single bottle or fragrance, head straight to the rear shelves, choose quickly, and pay at the less-busy secondary till if it’s open. One last tip: check your airline’s cabin baggage limits before buying multiple cartons or bottles; several Mexico–US routes from MTY strictly enforce one overhead bag plus one personal item at the gate.
