Gate-side duty free option in Terminal B
Just past security in Terminal B, Duty Free sits along the main departures corridor, so you hit it on the way to most B-gates. It’s a standard walk-through layout: you exit security, turn toward the gates, and you’re in the shop within 2–3 minutes. Good if you want one last pass at liquor, perfume, or gifts without backtracking across the terminal.
Alcohol is the main draw here, with 750 ml bottles of tequila and mezcal often priced below downtown Monterrey shops, especially in the mid-range 400–800 MXN bracket. You’ll also see multi-bottle promo packs on big brands stacked near the center aisle. If you’re connecting through another Mexican airport, check your airline’s rules on carrying liquids; on some routes liquids over 100 ml only stay safe if they’re in a sealed STEB bag from this shop.
The rest of the space leans into cosmetics, fragrance, and standard travel gifts. Expect the usual big-name perfumes, often with 30 ml and 50 ml sizes that hit under the 2,000 MXN mark, plus lipstick and skincare sets near the front. Mexican-branded chocolate boxes and souvenir snacks sit close to the checkout, priced higher than the OXXO downstairs in Terminal B’s landside area, but handy if you’re short on time before boarding.
Lines here depend on departure banks; during the 06:00–08:00 and 18:00–20:00 waves, a simple duty free purchase can add 5–10 minutes before you reach your gate. Staff generally speak Spanish and at least basic English, and most counters accept major cards plus pesos; some flights allow payment in US dollars, but you’ll get change back in MXN. Tip: if your boarding pass shows a bus gate, finish here first so you’re not juggling bags on the stairs later.
