Main Parking Lot

Short and long term

Main lot sits directly in front of Terminal 1

The Main Parking Lot is the primary option at Montrose Regional Airport’s Terminal 1, sitting right in front of the building so you can walk to check-in in a few minutes. It handles both short-term and long-term parking in the same area, so you use one lot whether you’re gone for a day or a week.

Rates post as a flat daily charge per day, so you don’t have to track separate hourly and long-term sections or juggle different tickets. Grab a ticket at the entry gate, park in any open space, and pay the total based on calendar days when you exit.

There is a shuttle running roughly every 10 minutes, useful if you end up in the outer rows or are carrying ski bags and gear. In good weather most people just walk, but in winter or with kids and luggage, that 10‑minute shuttle loop can save a slog across the lot.

The Main Parking Lot works as both short and long term, so you can leave a car for a quick day trip or stay parked for several nights without moving it to a different section. That single-zone setup keeps things simple if you’re dropping a car for a family member and don’t want to explain multiple areas.

Payment uses the ticket you pull at entry, so keep it handy in your wallet or glove box and don’t leave it in a checked bag. One last tip: in snow season, add an extra 5–10 minutes to walk or wait for the shuttle, and snap a photo of your row so you’re not hunting for the car when you land back at MTJ.
