MSY’s current terminal has no Delta Sky Club
In Terminal 1 at Louis Armstrong New Orleans International (MSY), Delta flyers won’t find a Sky Club at all. Delta runs flights from the concourses here, but the airline never opened a lounge in the new terminal that replaced the old airport in 2019. If you’re landing at MSY expecting the usual Sky Club routine before a connection or evening departure, you’ll be sitting in the general gate area instead.
Access rules are simple by default: there is zero Sky Club access at MSY, even for Sky Club members, Delta 360, or Diamond Medallion with club access chosen. Your paid club membership or Amex Platinum/Reserve benefits don’t flip any secret switch here. The only lounges in the building use different programs, and Delta does not share a branded space with another carrier.
Frequent MSY flyers on Delta usually pivot to The Club MSY, which sits airside in Terminal 1 and takes Priority Pass and other bank lounge memberships. Entry there typically runs around $45–$50 if you pay cash at the desk. It’s not a Delta product, so Sky Club rules don’t apply, but it’s the closest thing to a quiet seat and free snacks before a flight to ATL, LAX, or JFK.
The missing Sky Club frustrates Medallion regulars who fly MSY–ATL weekly and are used to club access at both ends. Flyertalk and Reddit threads from 2020–2024 keep circling the same complaint: Delta elites feel the gap more on long layovers over 90 minutes, where a lounge would usually mean reliable Wi‑Fi, outlets, and less competition for seats near the C and B gates.
Watch out for assumptions baked into your connection planning. If you’re used to grabbing a shower between a red‑eye into MSY and a morning meeting downtown, you won’t find one in a Delta-branded space here. Plan to use the public restrooms near gates B5–B7 or shift your routine to your hotel check‑in instead.
Practical tip: if lounge time really matters to you, route through a Sky Club station like ATL or DTW for a longer layover, then keep your MSY stop tighter at around 45–60 minutes so the lack of a Delta Sky Club bothers you less.
