Hotel shuttle 45-60 min

Most European charter packages into MRU already include a minibus

If you land at Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam (MRU) on a TUI, Condor, or other European charter into T1, there’s a good chance your hotel or tour operator has bundled a Hotel Transfer Minibus into the package, so check your voucher before you pay for a taxi at arrivals.

Pick-up is just outside customs in T1: after baggage claim and the green/red channel, look for reps holding hotel or tour logos near the main exit; they group passengers by resort area and walk you to a shared minibus parked in the coach lanes within about 100–150 metres of the doors.

Official journey time runs about 45–60 minutes to many east and north coast resorts, but Facebook regulars report sitting on the airport forecourt for an extra 30–45 minutes while the driver waits for remaining passengers off the same flight or a sister charter that landed a few minutes behind.

Once you roll, the minibus often works as a hotel drop-off chain: one traveler reported three or four stops along the coast before reaching their resort, adding close to an extra hour versus a direct taxi that would have taken roughly 45 minutes along the same route.

These shuttles usually run in sync with charter arrivals up to late evening, roughly until around 22:00–23:00, and are most useful when local buses thin out after dark and ride-hail isn’t as snappy as it is in big European cities.

Pricing is rarely shown at MRU because it’s pre-paid inside your package; if a rep tries to upsell you on a “private upgrade” at the curb, ask for the exact rupee amount and compare it with the fixed taxi rate board near the official taxi desk inside T1.

Regulars posting in Mauritius groups say that after an overnight from Europe, they often skip the included coach, walk to the official taxi rank by T1 arrivals, and pay cash for a direct ride just to avoid a 4–5 hotel milk-run when they only care about a shower and sleep.

Practical tip: Before you queue, confirm with the rep how many hotel stops your minibus will make and the planned order; if you’re last on the list and it’s already after 20:00, seriously consider switching to a taxi for this leg and using the minibus on the return.
