Electronics Kiosk

T1

Prices here run in euros, not rupees, at T1’s Electronics Kiosk

This small Electronics Kiosk sits airside in Terminal T1, past security, and mostly stocks last-minute basics: generic phone chargers, USB cables, travel adapters and a few budget headphones. Labels usually show prices in EUR, which stings a bit when you know the same cable runs far cheaper in Port Louis shops. Stock skews standard Android and iPhone, with a couple of multi-port adapters on the rack.

Most flights at MRU leave in the afternoon and late evening, and the kiosk tends to mirror peak departure banks rather than running true 24/7 hours. Expect it to be open for the Europe departures bank and closed in the dead overnight window around 02:00–04:00. You’re paying airport mark-up here, not chasing deals or rare gadgets, and frequent flyers on forums don’t even bother naming the stand.

Regulars on British Airways and leisure routes say they buy chargers, power banks and headphones in town before heading to the airport, because MRU pricing in euros wipes out any savings. That lines up with what you see on the shelves: a few basic power banks, some SD cards, and mid-range over-ear headphones that cost noticeably more than at big-box stores in Mauritius. Treat it as an emergency backup, not a planned tech stop.

Practical tip: if your phone is fussy about fast charging, pack your own cable and brick; the kiosk’s generic sets around Terminal T1 often skip proper USB‑C PD support.
