Uber and Lyft both serve Mobile Regional’s Main Terminal

Uber and Lyft pickups at Mobile Regional Airport (MOB) run from the Main Terminal curb, so you don’t need a shuttle or train transfer. Exit baggage claim on the arrivals level, walk straight to the sidewalk, and meet drivers in the marked rideshare area near the central doors. In normal traffic, rides into downtown Mobile take about 25–30 minutes via Airport Boulevard and I-65.

Rideshare availability tracks with flight banks: cars are easiest to grab between 5:00–8:00 a.m. and 3:00–7:00 p.m., when most Main Terminal departures and arrivals hit. Late at night after the last flights (often after 10:00 p.m.), wait times can jump from 3–5 minutes to 15 minutes or more, so check the app while you’re still on the concourse and adjust if the ETA spikes.

Pricing from MOB to downtown Mobile usually lands in the $25–$40 range for UberX or Lyft, depending on time of day and surge. A run to West Mobile neighborhoods along Airport Boulevard often prices closer to $15–$25. Longer trips, like to Dauphin Island or Gulf Shores, can push past $80 each way, so compare that with local taxi or pre-booked car quotes if you’re traveling more than 50 miles.

Pickup rules at the Main Terminal are simple: your driver can stop briefly at the curb but can’t wait more than a couple of minutes in front of baggage claim. Most drivers text as they turn into the airport road off Airport Boulevard, which is about a 3–5 minute drive from the terminal, so don’t hit “Request” until you’ve grabbed your bag and walked toward the exit doors.

For drop-offs, drivers use the same Main Terminal curb on the departures level, directly in front of the check-in counters for American, Delta, and United. Leaving downtown Mobile about 1 hour and 15 minutes before a domestic flight usually covers the 25–30 minute drive plus security, but morning commuters on I-65 can add 10–15 minutes around 7:00–8:30 a.m.

One tip: if surge pricing kicks in over 2.0x, walk 2–3 minutes to the far end of the terminal loop, re-quote the ride there, and compare; a small change in pickup pin at MOB sometimes knocks a few dollars off short hops into West Mobile.
