Cars pick up right outside the Main Terminal at MOB

Dollar Rental Car runs on-airport at Mobile Regional Airport, with cars parked just outside the Main Terminal baggage claim area. You walk off your flight, follow the rental car signs near baggage carousel 1, and reach the counter in a few minutes. No shuttle bus, no off-site lot, so factor maybe 10 extra minutes from deplaning to driving out.

Reservations usually lock in a base rate, but walk-up prices at MOB can jump above $70 per day on busy weekends. If you’re landing on a Friday after 5:00 p.m., expect a short line at the Dollar counter as multiple flights arrive close together. Have your driver’s license and credit card ready so the agent can process the contract in under 10 minutes.

Dollar’s lot at MOB stocks typical economy and midsize sedans along with a smaller number of SUVs, often Nissan Rogue or similar in the mid-size row. If you’re landing late, around 10:00 p.m. near closing time, don’t bank on getting a specialty model; take what’s available in your reserved class. Inspect the fuel level and mileage on the dash before leaving the airport loop road on Airport Boulevard (AL-56).

Return is simple: follow the rental car return signs as you re-enter the airport from Airport Boulevard, then pull into the Dollar lane shared with other national brands. Aim to be back at the lot at least 90 minutes before a Main Terminal departure so you can drop keys, walk to security, and clear TSA, which can take 20–30 minutes on Monday mornings. The fuel station about 1.5 miles east on Airport Boulevard is your last easy top-off before turning in the car.

One practical tip: take photos of all four sides of the car, plus the odometer and fuel gauge, time-stamped on your phone before leaving the MOB lot. That 60-second habit protects you if there’s any question about scratches or fuel when you return the keys at the Dollar counter inside the Main Terminal.
