Neptunbus runs pre-booked buses around southern Sweden and Denmark, and you mainly see their coaches at Malmö Sturup Airport (MMX) when a cruise line or tour operator has arranged a group transfer. They are not a scheduled public service like the regular Malmö–MMX airport bus, and you won’t find their times on the airport’s departure boards.
At MMX’s Terminal 1, Neptunbus pick-ups typically happen outside the main arrivals hall where tour coaches park in marked bays. The company is based in Skåne and advertises transfers linking airports such as MMX and Copenhagen (CPH) with ports used by cruise ships, like Malmö and Ystad, but each run is tied to a specific group booking.
You can’t just walk up and buy a ticket on the spot; Neptunbus trips to or from MMX need to be arranged in advance through their office, a cruise line, or a travel agent. Their website, neptunbus.se, lists contact details and outlines charter options for airports, ports, and hotels across the Öresund region, including custom routes that don’t appear in any public timetable.
Most Neptunbus vehicles are full-size coaches with luggage holds, set up for groups coming off aircraft with 20–50 passengers and multiple checked bags. For an arriving group at MMX, the driver usually waits with a name sign near the arrivals exit, then walks the group to the coach stand within about 100–150 meters of the terminal doors.
Pricing is by charter, not per person, so one quote covers the coach from MMX to, say, a Malmö or Trelleborg port hotel, with costs depending on distance and size of vehicle. Because you’re paying for the whole bus, Neptunbus tends to make sense for larger groups that might otherwise need 3–4 taxis from MMX, not for solo travelers or couples.
