Concourse C’s Chili’s works for any MKE departure

Because MKE runs open concourses, ticketed passengers from any airline can walk over to Chili’s on Concourse C and still make a flight from A or D. It sits pre-security in the Main Terminal but functions as the main sit-down spot airside once you’ve cleared the single checkpoint and head toward C. Think standard Chili’s menu at airport prices, firmly in the $$ bracket.

Hours run from about 4:30 a.m. to last flight, so it covers the first bank of departures through the late-night stragglers. That makes it one of the few options where you can actually sit down for a burger, fajitas, or a salad instead of living on grab-and-go from a kiosk at 6 a.m. or 9 p.m. Expect the usual national-chain drink list at the bar.

Food quality tracks with a typical suburban Chili’s: nothing fancy, but predictable and hot. Burgers, fajitas, and chicken tenders get the most positive mentions in Google reviews, and portions are big enough that a single entrée often carries you through a 2–3 hour connection. If you just need something light, chips and salsa or a cup of soup can keep the bill under about $15 before tip.

Regulars treat the bar as the move, especially during the evening departure bank between roughly 4 and 7 p.m. Several flyers say bar seats get faster service than tables, and you can watch the airport departure screens without constantly checking your phone. Others order entrees to go, then walk their bagged food back to a gate on another concourse.

Watch out for long waits on food and checks when the restaurant fills before peak flights; reviews mention 20–30 minute lags at busy times. Build at least a 45-minute buffer if you want to sit at a table, longer if you’re cutting it close to a 6–7 p.m. departure. Tip: if you see a bar stool open, grab it and order immediately; it can save you a missed boarding call.
