Duty Free Americas

Gate-side duty free stops in all three MIA terminals

Duty Free Americas runs multiple shops through Miami International’s North, Central, and South terminals, so you usually pass one on the way to your gate. Everything is post-security, which helps if you want liquids over 100 ml for an international flight out of MIA. Layout skews toward quick grab-and-go, not leisurely browsing.

Liquor and fragrance dominate the front sections, with standard duty free brands and frequent promo pricing on spirits and perfume sets. Expect airport markups on chocolate and snacks, but liquor can be competitive compared with downtown Miami, especially on larger 1L bottles. Tobacco stock varies a bit by terminal, so if you’re picky about brands, check the larger North Terminal outlets.

Hours usually track flight banks: early openings around 5:00–6:00 a.m. and closing around the last international departures, often after 10:00 p.m. Exact times shift by concourse, so don’t bank on a midnight shop in the quieter Central concourses. If you land late and connect internationally the next morning, plan to buy on departure, not arrival.

These stores focus on big global labels rather than local Miami products, so don’t come here hunting niche rum distilleries or small-batch cologne. For gifts, the boxed confectionery and travel fragrance sets near the cash registers move fastest and are easiest to pack. One practical tip: keep your boarding pass handy at checkout, as staff must scan it for duty free eligibility on outbound international flights.
