Terminal Curbside Dropoff

Short stay

Taxi drivers use the single terminal curb at MHH for everything

The Terminal Curbside Dropoff at Leonard M. Thompson International Airport (MHH) runs directly along the front of the small terminal building, with one access road and no separate short-term garage. It functions as a general-use lane for private cars, hotel shuttles, and taxis doing quick drop-and-go stops before check-in.

This is a true short-stay zone in practice, not in pricing: there are no pay stations, no ticket machines, and no posted hourly rates along the curb. Drivers usually pull in, unload bags in under 2–3 minutes, and move on. If you need longer than that, plan to loop the access road again rather than lingering at the doors.

Walking distances are tiny here. From the curb to the check-in counters is roughly a 1–2 minute walk across a single sidewalk and into the terminal. Because the building footprint is compact and there’s just the one curb line, there’s no premium “close-in” paid parking product like you see at big US hubs with multi-level structures.

The curb lane is uncovered, fully open to Bahamian sun and rain, and sits immediately in front of the main entrance used for both arrivals and departures. There’s no separate covered drop area or weather-protected loading bay, so in a heavy shower you’ll want bags and documents ready before the car door opens.

Tip: aim to pull up, unload, and say your goodbyes in under five minutes; if the curb is crowded with two or three vehicles ahead, have the driver roll slowly along the single terminal road until a spot opens instead of stopping in the traffic lane.
