Short Term Parking

Short stay

$1 per 30 minutes buys you curb-close parking at MGM

Short Term Parking at Montgomery Regional Airport sits directly next to the Main Terminal, about a 1-minute walk from the doors. It’s to the right as you pull in from US‑80/Selma Highway, so you see it before any other lot. Locals use it for same-day business hops and quick drop-offs because you can park, walk inside, and be at check-in in under two minutes.

Rates run $1 per 30 minutes with a hard cap of $14 per 24 hours, making a 3–4 hour stay roughly $6–$8. That works well if you want to go inside for a slow baggage claim or to assist an elderly relative through security without paying a full daily flat. Compared with big-city airports that hit $30+ per day for short term, MGM stays relatively gentle on the wallet.

This lot is true short-stay self-park: no shuttle, no valet, just standard spaces directly across from the terminal. All airport lots, including Short Term, are patrolled by airport police and covered by cameras 24/7, according to MGM. Payment follows airport-wide rules: cash, traveler’s checks, and major credit cards are accepted, but personal checks are not.

There’s no reservation system at MGM, so Short Term Parking runs first-come, first-served even on holiday weekends. Regulars on parking sites mention that third-party apps often show “0 lots” or nothing for MGM, so they simply drive up and use the on-airport short-term when needed. If you’re landing during a peak like Thanksgiving, build a few extra minutes into your arrival in case you need to circle once.

Tip: For pickups, park here if your flyer’s status is “landed” but they still have checked bags; an extra hour in Short Term at $2 beats looping the terminal 5–6 times.
