Only hot meals past security at Medford are from Sky House.
Sky House Bar & Grill sits airside in T1 at MFR, past security, and it’s the lone full-service sit-down spot in the terminal. If you want anything cooked to order instead of a vending machine snack, this is where it happens. Allegiant lists it as open from 4 a.m. until the final departure, so even the first bank of flights out of Medford has access to a hot breakfast and coffee.
Hours split a bit: the public side runs 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily, while the secure-side operation starts at 4 a.m. and goes until the last flight. That covers most Allegiant and Alaska departures. Expect mid-range airport pricing, roughly $$ for burgers, sandwiches, and bar food. Think basic American: eggs and bacon in the morning, burgers and fries later in the day, plus a small beer and wine lineup at the bar.
The catch: reviews are rough. One flier called MFR “one very bad restaurant, two vending machines, and one pathetic gift shop,” clearly pointing at Sky House as the weak link. Overall rating hovers near 2 out of 5, with complaints about food quality and value. If you care about flavor per dollar, treat this as fuel, not a treat-yourself meal, and temper expectations accordingly.
On the upside, early-morning coverage from 4 a.m. means you can at least get hot coffee and something protein-based before a 5:30 a.m. departure. Later in the day, a burger or chicken sandwich and a draft beer is the standard move, and you can usually get in and out in under 40 minutes on non-peak days since MFR is a small field with limited gate traffic.
Practical tip: eat in town if you can, then use Sky House only for coffee or a snack; once you pass Medford security, this is your last shot at real food until you land.
