MTB Open · 07:30 – 23:00 ★ 2 $$$$ Post-security

South-side ground floor near the lower-numbered gates

CROF sits airside on the south departure ground floor of MTB, Space No. 19-00-0086, and mainly serves people whose flights go from the lower-numbered gates. Official hours run 07:30–23:00, so it usually covers the first and last Macau departures without trouble. It’s inside security, so this is a last-minute stop before you line up at the gate downstairs.

Prices land in the $ bracket, with coffee and soft drinks roughly in line with other Macau airport outlets but cheaper than many city cafés. The menu leans almost entirely on espresso drinks, bottled water, canned sodas, and a few juices. Food is limited to a small set of pastries and packaged snacks, so don’t plan on a full breakfast or a proper meal here.

Reviews sit around a 2-star mark, and the main complaint is inconsistent coffee: several people call out burnt-tasting espresso compared with what you’d get in town. If you care about beans and grind, you’ll probably be happier grabbing a better drink on the way to the airport or heading back up to the mezzanine cluster before coming down to your gate. For most people it’s “does the job” rather than something to look forward to.

Regulars on Chinese forums say they only use CROF when they’re already at a south-side gate and don’t want to walk back upstairs. Some also buy bottled drinks here specifically to bring on board, since it’s close to final boarding checks. Seating is limited, and when two flights board from adjacent gates at the same time, the small area feels cramped and noisy.

Tip: if your flight leaves from a higher-numbered gate and you have 15–20 minutes spare, head to the mezzanine for better coffee and food, then come down to your gate instead of defaulting to CROF.
