Gate B21–23 bar with its own brewery vibe
By gates 21–23 in Terminal B, The Wise Omega Bodega fills a gap at MEM: a real sit-down bar with draft-focused beer lists instead of just bottled macros. It’s past security, so this is a legit option for killing an hour before a Delta or Southwest hop. Seating is barstools plus a few two-tops; think more “airport bar” than full restaurant, but with enough space to park a rollaboard under your chair.
Hours run Monday through Friday, 10am to 9pm, which covers lunchtime departures and the last bank of evening flights out of B. Weekends are the question mark here, so if you’re flying on a Saturday 8 p.m. departure, have a backup in Terminal B. Early-morning passengers on 6 a.m. or 7 a.m. flights won’t find it open, so plan on coffee and breakfast elsewhere in MEM.
Pricing lands in the midrange ($$). Draft beers sit above domestic airport prices but below hotel-bar gouge; think one pint roughly matching what you’d pay at a downtown Memphis brewpub. Bar food runs in that $12–$18 zone for burgers, sandwiches, or wings. Portion sizes read “single traveler” rather than shareable, so a solo order won’t swamp you before a 2-hour flight.
The draw here is the brewery angle: rotating taps, seasonal styles, and usually at least one IPA, one lighter lager or pilsner, and something maltier on. If you care about what’s on draft, ask what’s local versus national when you sit down; the lineup changes enough that yesterday’s favorite might not be on today’s board by gate 21. Spirits and basic cocktails round things out if you’re not in a beer mood.
Tip: seats closest to gate 23 get the clearest boarding calls, so if you’re on a tight 30–40 minute sit, post up on that end of the bar and keep your boarding pass on the counter.
